The APA is the association that represents anthropology and anthropologists who speak Portuguese or work in Portugal. The Congresses of the Portuguese Anthropological Association, despite their historically irregular periodicity, represent the main meeting point, not only between the Association and its members, but also and above all for the Portuguese anthropological community.
In recent congresses, however, there has been a noticeable internationalization, with networks extending to an international anthropological community interested in Lusophone issues.
